This Buick Special Riviera Series 43 has been in the possession of one family since new. The 4-door hardtop was the recipient of a partial professional restoration in 1996 and is a handsome example of this full-size classic. The exterior was refinished in the original two-tone Cameo Beige/Dover White (code ACC) and is in overall very good condition (showing some minor aging). All of the chrome and stainless is in very good condition and accents include a stunning hood ornament, classic '50s chrome grill and 15” factory wheels w/full wheel covers and wide-white bias ply tires. The refreshed cloth/vinyl interior is also in very good condition. Upholstery, carpeting, door cards and headliner all present very well. The stunning dash holds the original push-button AM radio (needs TLC), a full set of working factory gauges, and the 3-spoke wheel that is a work of art.

The Special Riviera is powered by what is said to be a matching-numbers 8-cylinder 'nailhead' OHV engine that has never been rebuilt. The Buick Special models were equipped with a 264ci version of this motor that was rated at 187hp/255lb/ft with a 2-barrel carburetor. Power is transferred by a Dynaflow automatic transmission to a stock differential. The Dynaflow transmission was essentially a one-speed automatic with a variable torque convertor that was much smoother than other automatics of the era. The virtually spotless chassis is equipped with power steering and power-assisted hydraulic 4-wheel drum brakes. Front suspension is coil springs w/sway bar and the rear is a combination multi-link/coil spring design. It utilizes a rear 'panhard bar' alignment component that is quite advanced for the time. The exhaust system and fuel tank have also been upgraded. This beautiful Buick Special Riviera is ready for a new owner who will appreciate this classic icon.
